Every Tear

Every tear He gathers in His loving hands, not one is wasted or unnoticed. They're precious to Him, because they are a part of us, not just a part of our experience, but a part of us. Materially, they are made up of much the same substances used to form each of us, before the "Imago Dey" was breathed into our souls...water, protein, sodium, minerals. Their value however, lies in the release that can connect our unexpressed emotions. They are silent liquid messengers seeping underneath the barriers and barricades erected by pain, fear, and pride, which separate us from need, vulnerability and intimacy... the very spaces which bring us closer to the Love that created us.

They are designed to protect, to connect and to express. In one way, they are the consistent sentinels that safeguard the physical well-being of the windows of our soul, while in still another, they help to wash away the very real pain experienced in our most intimate spaces. If allowed, through open and honest participation, they powerfully and organically connect us to each other in shared empathy. Deeply stored in the aquifer of our soul, when released, emotional tears are a welcomed outlet enabling us to express what we cannot at times find the words to verbalize. They can convey both joy and sadness in ways only dreamed of by the most gifted of poets. Wonder of wonders, the way He created us! Miracle of miracles how He longs for intimacy with His children!

Invite Him into the emotional landscape that is your soul. He is not a faraway taskmaster weighing the scales of your life, waiting to punish your every mistake. He is a rewarder of all those that diligently seek Him. He is a loving Father who wants to be intimately involved in your life. He is a loving Father who wants to wipe away your tears of sadness, remove the bitter taste left by the ones shed in anger and frustration, and rejoice with you, when your eyes are moistened by the overwhelming beauty that is Love.

Oh let Him in!
