LOVE...SO MUCH MORE THAN EMOTION

Pain, fear, and discomfort are looked upon as the enemies or obstacles to our happiness, when in reality, our obsession with their avoidance is a much bigger obstacle. Avoidance is the fertile ground where suffering is nurtured by addiction. Vulnerability on the other hand, is where the seed of healing is planted and takes root in the integrous acceptance of truth in Love. Emotions are meant to be experienced as seasoning, and as such, both the sweet and the sour have their place at the table of our lives. Without them life would lose its flavor, but if they become the main course, the character and substance of the meal is lost. Eat well of all that is placed before you, and give thanks for every morsel be it sweet or be it sour, but never forget that the main course is Love.

We are all seeking relational connection both intuitively and intentionally because the Source from whence we come calls us to relational intimacy. The purpose of life is and will always be love, because we come from Love. To relegate love to just the category of emotion is to do It a great injustice. Love IS the very essence of God, and as such it is the "Imago Dei" in us. We have been created in HIS IMAGE. Love and pain however, are inextricably woven together because Love never imposes its will outside of choice, for it cannot exist without freedom. It is in this freedom where rejection to His calling is possible.

When God in HIS PERFECT LOVE chose to create us in His image, He knowingly opened the door to the pain of rejection for Himself. God Is and can be no other. He cannot lose Himself to walk with His creation. The choice is always ours, for you cannot walk with God and be God. Acceptance is not the same as approval. After all, if there is such a place as hell, does it not stand to reason that it would look like God’s grieving and disapproving acceptance of our will outside of His.
