REACTION VS RESPONSE

JUST WAIT...give it a minute
What are you reacting from?
...past experiences, festering trauma, unmet relational expectations, past failures leading to self-doubt and condemnation, pride and offense, fear, addiction rooted in avoidance of pain, habit fed by brain chemistry racing to meet the organism's endless cravings for endorphins?
Be still and KNOW that HE IS GOD.
Take a moment and breathe...
Allow HIS Spirit to lead yours in the beautiful dance beyond the "realm of the soul". Begin to Respond FROM LOVE rather than react from the insatiable lust of the flesh, or the festering wounds inflicted by experiences in a fallen world. Take every thought captive into HIS obedience. We are meant to be more than biofeedback engines reacting emotionally to outside input, or from internal stored emotional baggage. We are more than just chemistry and electrical impulses.
We are image bearers of the living God, the "Imago Dei", and HE is calling us to wholeness and intimacy. He is calling us back to take our intended position as His children rather than just His creation. This is precisely what "walking in the spirit" should look like, and it doesn't happen through passive inactivity. Quite the opposite, it happens first, in the answer to a call back home that can only be heard by the vulnerability and humility of a child-like faith. It happens in the most logical yet elusive of places... a positional dependence that understands that nothing originates from self and that ownership and control are but illusory diversions. It happens in the space created by the greatest activity which we can ever undertake. The surrender of self to the source of all. It happens in the inexorable search for Truth never settling for less. It happens in time spent in solitude with Love. It is here where healing takes place, and intimacy with God and your inner spirit can lead to greater relational health with others. It is here where reaction can give way to response and we can finally learn to walk as we were always intended to do so...In spirit and in truth.
